Mass Sectrometric Imaging

Mass spectrometric imaging (IMS) is a technique that allows the study of the spatial arrangement of specific molecules at complex surfaces. In other words, it is possible to generate images by mapping the molecular composition of a biological tissue. IMS is commonly applied to identification of proteins, metabolites, peptides, and biomarkers whose presence or absence suggest a disease pathology. LaCEM apply DESI imaging in clinical medical research.
